Palmetto Tree Service owner, Robert Thompson, worked for an established tree service company in his home town of Columbia, South Carolina for several years before moving to Mount Pleasant and marrying Jessica, wife and co-owner. With that experience along with extensive study and examination, he earned ISA Certified Arborist status, which he renews annually.

Palmetto Tree Service has provided local tree service for over a decade and is fully equipped with a Bucket Truck, BobCat, Dump Trucks, State of the Art Remote Controlled Stump Grinder, Chippers, and Fertilization Rig. The company is proud to be distinguished as “environmentally friendly” through the use of biofuels when available, the “Environmentally Responsible Removals” tree planting program, and wood waste recycling program.

Jessica prides herself on her own environmental responsibility and wanted to extend that into the business. “At first I thought being a ‘green’ company would increase costs. I have found the opposite to be true. The savings from using and recycling our woody material rather than dumping it is incredible and we pass that savings on to our customers. One day we hope to make furniture and other sculptural art from some of the wood as well.”

Hundreds of satisfied customers and their referrals have allowed Palmetto Tree Service to grow to a full time crew of four as well as office staff, shop, and recycling center in Daniel Island.
